Sensei Pushkala.

Materials used  by Mrs Pushkala and the write up in her own words:

Blue ceramic  container.

1.Caladium leaves with colours on green background

2. Fully green colour Caladium leaf.

3. Philodendron green leaves.

Explanation: Chloroplast and chromoplast are responsible for developing colours in leaves. Chtomoplast will develop different colours when exposed to light depending on the genetic constitution. In the absence of light since they do not produce colours only green colour will be expressed. The composition is focussed on Caladium leaves started with green colour followed by leaves with colour and ending with green colour Philodendron. The significance of light on the development of colour is the focus.

On 28th December Sensei Chitra Thiagarajan and her student Miss Yoana Sarayu Ram unveiled a brilliant exhibition under the banner "Urban Blooms " -"A Fusion of freestyle arrangements and Architectural materials".The exhibition beautifully showcased urban building materials as containers for floral arrangements. The  creativity of Sensei Chitra Thiagarajan was a feast to the eye.
Mrs Mirnalini, mother of MsYoana had made laudable effort in creating the desired containers and in making the exhibition a grand success.25 freestyle arrangements have been curated by Sensei Chitra Thiagarajan for Urban blooms. She was assisted by her student Yoana Sarayu Ram.
Sensei Chitra Thiagarajan was trained by Riji Sensei Malathi Pandurang, Director of Chennai Sogetsu.
Sensei Chitra says the brainstorming  of the raw building materials into unique structures and adorning the structures with beautiful foliage and flowers has made the journey of Urban Blooms, more interesting.  The Exhibtion was inaugurated at 10.00am and went on until 9.00pm. There were a lot of footfalls for the Exhibition, throughout. And the feedback from artists and the public were amazing, which had made the event very memorable
