Ikebana and us

  JANUARY MEETING   The year 2025  began with a workshop by our Sensei Meenakshi Sarin at our usual location, ABK Hall in Chennai. Sensei Meenu’s topic was “Composition Expressing Movement”. She created three elegant arrangements expressing movement.   For the first  one, Sensei Meenu used inflorescence of a fish tail palm and chrysanthemum in a metal container. Using ixora, gerbera and decorative kale in a ceramic container she created her second beautiful arrangement.   With coconut spirals, gerberas and red spiral called tornado from Sogetsu school, Sensei made her third arrangement. The demonstration was followed by a workshop.  Members made arrangements exhibiting movements.  23rd February 2022 15 members attended the online demonstration of all-round arrangements by Sensei Meenakshi Sarin Unfortunately, we had poor connectivity, and were not able to enjoy the demonstration as much as would have liked to. Sensei Meenakshi showed us 3 moribana all-round freestyle, using interesting and unusual shaped vases. The members created al round arrangements, and photographed their arrangements from different angles, to show the different effect from all sides.  Some members did free style, while others followed Variation 6.
