Workshops in December and January
A rather late Happy New Year to all. I am guilty of procrastination and lethargy - not a good way to start 2010 is it?
Lovely caladium leaves in a composition by Molly
A dramatic vase, and Trishala experiments with a large space created y a long line
Another interesting vase and Prerana experimented with several combinations, and this was one
Chitra worked on a horizontal movement in her nagiere
Molly removed some jerberas (I think) and this was the result
Trishala emphasisd the line, but I should have put a background sheet to capture the line
Meenu worked with casuarina and anthuriums
I was rather sternly reminded to get a move on and "post the pictures" of our December and January workshops, and so on this Republic Day holiday, I resolve to do just that!
Next month, our annual exhibition is likely to take place, and more details will be posted once plans are finalised.
First of all, our December workshop. We spread ourselves in various part of sensei Malathi's home (Ok Prerana, I can just see you laughing at my sentence!)
We were to focus on nagiere vases and fixtures, and my efforts to use five materials is on the left.
The arrangements were far better than these pictures below - they are from my mobile 'phone. (As usual, Venkatesh, I forgot to take my camera.)

In the new year, we gathered at Trishala's lovely flat for our monthly workshop. Creativity was in full flow!
Chitra's dramatic use of umbrella plant, diphenbacus(?) leaves and palm berries
Prerana or Tishala?
The wow! moment - Seetha's dramatic vase complemented by the dramatic flower!
Creative use of a vase (upside down!) - Chitra
My attempts to interpret the "ring" vase, with a horizontal composition. I think it needs a stronger vertical line?

Trishala's corner piece
Whose was this?
Trishala - the nandi vattal looks a bit droopy because it did not have enough water as soon as it was cut

Once you read this and tell me who did the arrangements that I haven't marked or marked wrongly, I will edit the post again!
